Nobody can know everything, as good old Socrates said. Knowledge and understanding are based on the amount of experiences and people we are exposed to, and not how "smart" someone is. I am an extremely caring, open-minded individual looking forward to sharing and gaining experiences by teaching students on a one-to-one basis. I want to get to know the student and help him or her grow on an individual basis, so that he or she can get to know me and help me grow as a teacher and individual. Graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas, I studied under Arts and Humanities (History, Arts, Film, Philosophy, with a focus on Literature). I am currently pursuing my Masters at the University of Houston in English/American Literature. Having taught introductory college courses in Dallas, I have also had much practice with editing and revising essays throughout my undergraduate career. I am currently the graduate assistant and a history coach for the Cougar Core mentor program (social and academic mentorship for students in introductory college courses) at UH. My greatest proficiencies are under English/Literature and History. My reading, writing, communication, and critical-thinking skills have been fostering in me since my childhood. I am a twenty-two-year-old hungry to gain and share knowledge of everyday skills.
