I am an experienced, certified English teacher who loves helping students learn. There are times when students get stuck and need some help, and one on one tutoring fills that need. I have the ability to help a student understand and learn without being frustrated or feel stupid. Everyone learns in different ways and at different paces -- I am willing and able to find what works for your student and help him or her learn and enjoy the experience.

Thirteen years of teaching English to students in both public and private schools in three states is my experience. More importantly, I love teaching.

I teach writing using The Writing Process, and I am happy to help a student learn, step by step, how to consistently write excellent essays or reports.

I am an experienced English teacher with 13 years of public school and private school teaching experience. Grammar, writing, reading analysis, essay and research reporting, and Advanced Placement (AP) and pre-AP courses are my specialties. I earned a BA in English with a concentration in secondary education and an MA in Humanities. Patient, caring, and friendly, I love working with students of all ages. Literature

Literature is a mirror held up to society, and I particularly love to read and analyze it with students. Whether it's ancient Greece, Shakespeare's England, or another time and place, literature is a journey of the imagination, and we can learn so much about life through the author's eyes and the character's words. Being prepared, having the right materials, repetition, adequate time management, and preparation helps students do their best.

College Counseling

I worked as the Assistant Director of College Counseling for a private school in New Jersey. My role was to help students create a list of colleges suitable to their academic interests, to discuss which standardized tests to take, and to guide the student throughout the college application process. I worked one on one with students, helping them with their college essays. I answered all questions and assisted students in every aspect of the college selection process.

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
