I am a retired teacher of 24 years (DISD). I've taught mostly 1st, 4th and 6th grades, but have experience in all grades. I sub in 3 different school districts and am keeping up with the test strategies for STARR. We would also use technology as part of our learning experience.

Phonics

I have a B.S. in Elem Ed and taught 1st grade for 5 years. Phonics is important for anyone struggling with reading. When I earned my M.Ed, phonics was reaffirmed for students on the secondary level who are struggling readers. Although I don't believe that phonics is the only strategy for learning how to read, I do believe it is very important as a foundational tool.

How do I receive a discount?

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
