I am a senior at Texas A&M University with an absolute passion for education and enabling my students to succeed and feel confident that they DO have the ability to accomplish anything. I strive to make all lessons engaging for all age groups and can work with ages 6 to 18. I am coming back to North Texas this summer to work with students and allow them to continue to succeed academically on a one-on-one basis.
My tutoring experience (over 100 hours) comes from students preparing for the ACT and SAT, some with major holes in content knowledge, and others trying to get that perfect score. It has definitely been a great way for students to brush up on their skills before the busy year ahead! I have worked with all subjects before, but I specialize in math.
As a future educator, I understand more than most that if there's a will, there's a way. Reteaching standards in new and engaging ways is what many of my students needed to succeed, so I find alternative ways of delivering content in order to reach those needs. I am currently "brushing" on number theory in my methods classes, classes that allow us to articulate "basic" concepts like whole number addition on a very in depth, conceptualized level that many students respond to.
