My name is Laura, and I am a Mom of two amazing boys, a thirteen year old son, and a four year old son. I am a graduate of South Plains College, with an Associate of Science degree with a major in pre-pharmacy. I am also a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Childhood Development. I am a third generation Texas Tech graduate! My grandparents attended Texas Tech and my Dad graduated with a degree from Texas Tech. I have completed two quarters of graduate level courses at Walden University working towards a Master of Science in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling.
I am an experienced teacher with six years of teaching experience working with children, from infants to adolescents and even college students. I have been a Lead and Assistant Teacher and have taught Art, Foreign Language including French and Spanish, and Pre-Kindergarten. Most of my teaching experience has been with children 3-6 years of age. I have previous tutoring experience with children and adolescents. I have also been a Substitute Teacher in Lubbock ISD.
I have always loved learning! I have always tried to instill a love for learning in my students. If children develop a hunger and desire to learn, they will love education and will continue on this path for knowledge into adulthood!
It is a really great feeling when a student is having difficulty learning something and then the "light bulb" comes on and they finally get it! Some of my most favorite subjects to teach are French, Art, Math and Science. I have taught French and Spanish to children ages 2-6.
If you do not quite love to learn, let me help you put the spark back into learning and make learning fun! Contact me, Laura, so that I can help make learning fun again. I look forward to talking with you soon!
