I am certified to teach secondary Spanish, History and ESL in the state of Texas. I graduated from Sul Ross State University in December of 1997 after having gone back to school in 1994 when I was 40 years old. I graduated in December of 1997 at the age of 44 with summa cum laude honors.

I was a teacher for 14 years, 13 and 1/2 of which I taught regular, pre-AP and AP Spanish courses. 4 of those years I also taught ESL classes. I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish with a minor in history. While at Sul Ross State University, I was awarded top Spanish major of the year and top history minor of the year awards in 1997. I was born in Mexico and am a native speaker.

I enjoy every aspect of teaching the language but especially teaching the rules on written accents in Spanish. I have found out that even native speakers and many Spanish teachers don't fully comprehend when a written accent is required on a Spanish term and why. I had to retire from teaching because I suffer from multiple sclerosis but I still love teaching Spanish and would tutor at my home or over the internet.
