Hello! My name is Jina.
I was born and raised in Korea until I was 12 years old. I came to US with my loving sister, 15 years ago. I lived in these two very different countries for fairly equal amount of my life.
I am thankful for my parents who always taught me the importance of being aware of my own culture and being fluent in my own language, because it determines who I am.
I am active and outgoing person. I do enjoy interacting with people and building relationships. I have experiences in tutoring English from elementary school students up to high school students in Korea as a freelance for the past few years during summer vacation. I had great relationship with the students and especially with their parents. I still keep in touch with my previous clients and at every visit to Korea, we always have great time catching up.
Most importantly, I can do more than teaching a language. Language is part of the culture, therefore I believe adopting the culture along technically learning the language is essential. One of the privileges I have as a immigrant generation is, I know what it is to live as Korean and as American.
