Thank you for your interest in my tutor profile. I reside in Highland Village, Texas and enjoy helping students from elementary school through high school. My goal is for your student to not only become successful but also to enjoy mathematics as much as I do.

I have experience tutoring a variety of subjects including Elementary Math, Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Geometry and Study Skills. I am experienced in special education including ADD/ADHD, Autism, and Aspergers. I was a professional singer and trumpet player for many years, so I am able to teach music theory and performance. All of my tutoring is one-to-one and done in your home. As a consequence I charge for all travel outside the 75077 zip code.

As an effective private tutor I know how to adapt and tailor my teaching strategies to accommodate the various needs of my students. My experience as a tutor began at an early age, and continued both through high school and my undergraduate years in math, logic, statistics and music.

I spent four years in the Lewisville ISD as a substitute teacher and as a special education life skills aide. Prior to teaching I was a police officer in California for thirty years, retiring as a lieutenant. As you might imagine I am direct, methodical, organized and prepared. I won't waste your child's time or your money. Your student will not just be given answers, they will learn how to discover answers for themselves and become life-long learners in the process.

I am an experienced homeschool parent and have great availability weekday mornings and early afternoons for homeschool families.

On a personal note, I grew up with a special needs aunt. Both professionally and personally I understand working with children with learning disabilities and other barriers to school success.

Please contact me and we can discuss your tutoring needs. I am eager to help.
