I retired from the field of education in August, 2009. For 34 years, I served as a teacher in all-levels of education. I have taught Math, Reading, and served as a GED Reading and Math teacher, also.

I was a successful coach for 30 years plus. I also had the privilege of serving as a school superintendent for five years and a school principal for 9 years.

I am certified as a Day Care Director and have served in that capacity for a total of three years.

In 2011-2012, I served as an Interim Principal for four months and as a substitute teacher during the same period of time.

I have been a licensed minister for 30+ years.

Elementary Math

I have taught all-level math and especially successful with young people in the elementary grades.

I have been successful in helping students of all ages prepare and pass the state test that is given each year.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a retired teacher. I have taught all-level math including grades Kindergarten through high school. I have a Master's degree in administration also. In these grade levels, I have taught math, reading, social studies, and English. I have been sponsor of Interscholastic League math and all scholastic activities as well as sports related activities. I am skilled in chess and have started chess clubs in various schools.

Phonics

I have taught reading for all grade levels in the public school and also served as a tutor of both young students and adults. I was a speech major in college where I received a great deal of experience in the working with phonetics. Study Skills

I have been involved with teaching study skills in every school in which I have taught.
I have worked with students in developing the skills necessary for taking tests, penmanship, social skills, note-taking, and leadership. We have used role-playing, video-taping, and guest speakers in order to make the learning a more life-like experience.

Track & Field

Through my 34 years of coaching and teaching, I have had many students advance to the State level of competition in both track and field events. My experience has been valuable in field events such as high jump, long jump, triple jump, and shot put. In track, I have coached runners in hurdles, relays, starting procedures in sprints, and long distance runs, such as the 400 meter, 800 meter, and the mile. I have also worked and had great results with students in the cross country runs.

Football

For many years I have served as the head football coach and also as an assistant. I have worked with students from the ages of 9 through high school age. I am strong on participation, conditioning, and especially in the complete development of fundamental skills. I enjoy helping students excel in their skills and showing their desire to be successful in all walks of like. Football teaches you to stand on your own to feet and to be aggressive in a very positive way.

Basketball

Basketball is the sport in which I have been involved since I was in the fourth gradein elementary school. I played on the Junior High basketball team in a small school. Chess

I am a collector of chess sets; computer chess sets, hand-,painted chess sets, collectible chess sets. I am not a grandmaster but have been a student of the game since I was 13 years of age.
I have started chess clubs in three different schools and students have performed very well.

Tennis

Tennis is definitely a sport that has such great carry-over values as you can play tennis no matter of age, size, or physical skills. As a participant, I won third place in State University Interscholastic League Tennis Tournament as a senior in high school. I won several tournaments in Waco, Leonard, and Sherman as a "week-end" player. I have coached tennis for over 30+ years and have had both boys and girls advance to the finals of the state tournament.

Bible Studies

I was privileged to have been raised in an orphanage home where we were taught biblical scriptures on a daily basis. I have been a minister since I was 17 years of age and have pastored the same congregation of people for the past 24 years. I sang in the Boles Home choir while at the home and also lead the songs at the church where I am now the preacher. Volleyball

When I attended high school, we participated in men's volleyball and won district every year.
I coached girl's volleyball for five years with great results. I have played in tournaments in both men's volleyball and mixed tournaments and won most valuable player on three different occasions. I encourage young people to participate in volleyball as a team sport and one that teaches patience and teamwork.

Public Speaking

In elementary, junior high, and high school I have always been involved in public speaking contests; namely, Oral Reading, Poetry Interpretation, Public Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, Debate, etc.
One of my majors in college was Speech where I was involved in Speech contests against other college students, lead role in two plays, and sang in the college choir where we did major productions.

TAKS

In the last school that I was involved in the preparation of students for the TAKS test, our successful rate was 92% for the sixth grade students. I worked with ten students who were Juniors in high school that had never passed the TAKS test since it's original administration.
