Before a career in the US Army defense organization TRADOC, I was a middle school and high school mathematics teacher and coach in Iowa for six years. I taught courses ranging from remedial math to algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. I also regularly applied upper level mathematics in my duties as an Operations Research Analyst in federal service. I adjust my style of tutoring to the needs and abilities of my students, much the same way as a coach develops a game plan according to the abilities of his players. The patience and understanding I exhibit has been demonstrated by the success my sons have attained, earning engineering degrees at Texas Tech University, and graduate level degrees at Johns Hopkins University.
