DEVELOP A TRUE UNDERSTANDING OF MATH BY LEARNING THE OBJECTIVES AND REAL-LIFE APPLICATIONS (college-level).

Hello Student and/or Parents,

I'm a home school educator specializing in math, science and writing. Professionally, I am a private educator, K-12/college tutor, engineering graduate, and I.T. professional. My students find my presentation, style and methodology in tutoring to be quite simple and straight-forward. Students need a fun or at least interesting way to master the basic fundamentals so that they never forget. I use simple, easy, and quick to remember methods, formulas and acronyms so that my students retain information and know when to use it. I present in a systematic format, using repetition of the information, exceptional practice, demonstration by the student, and lots of patience and encouragement. I provide examples that they can keep and slideshows they can view over and over again.

I typically spend 3 hours per student for every one hour of tutoring time in preparation and post-support and communication. I use a variety of methods depending on the student's needs. We all can learn if information is kept simple and interesting. I hope you feel confident in my words and will entrust your student's success and future to me. I do not take it lightly and I would be committed to your student's success. Math is my most sought after skill and I also specialize in entrance exam prep for college entrance and military acceptance. I am equally successful in various other subjects, such as reading, writing, and sciences. Sessions can be online or in-person, day or evening, 8am - 10pm. I look forward to working with you to help you achieve your or your child's goals.

Ms. Sandy

p.s. - TUTORING CANCELLATION/NO-SHOW POLICY:

Career Development

My background as a project manager and an IT professional developer was key to starting my career & business organization. I assist K12 students to create a life plan and establish life goals as well as how to work that plan. I teach letter writing and resume writing in addition to strengthening interview skill and dressing for success. For adults, I help them to take a creative approach to career development, express individualism and uniqueness whether working for an employer or for self. I have 12 courses that teach individuals to examine their gifts and talents, cultivate their skills, master their own processes, and then business planning.

Discrete Math

I am an experienced college tutor in Discrete Math. I.T. professional - analyst and programmer experienced in writing definitions which require examining all possibilities using logic and other theoretical and logical tools. Received a firm understanding of objectives while taking the class in college and have formed prerequisites, lessons, practice and self-examination that foster student success.

Dreamweaver

I am a UNT College of Engineering graduate with a degree in IT. I am a trained and experienced programmer, web designer, software design analyst, database designer, system tester, and implementation specialist. I have experience in all areas of IT and software/web design including managing teams and projects. I've worked for companies like CVS (Eckerd Pharmacy), Children's Medical Center, Comerica Bank, Citigroup-Gulf Insurance Group, Medical Center at Lancaster, and Medical City Dallas. I am now self-employed developing websites for businesses and assisting college students and professional who are learning to design or just need assistance with a build through annual support contracts. Skilled in C, C++, Java, ASPVBScript, Javascript, PHP, HTML, and XHTML. My database knowledge includes MS Access, MYSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle. I have used tools like Dreamweaver and Microsoft Developers Toolkits for several years. Dreamweaver is my tool of choice.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have served as a home school coach and teacher for elementary, junior high and high school students for the last 5 years. I have learned to make education fun by using all sorts of outside activities, games, competitions, and physical models. My schooling never feels like school. My priority is to build a student's confidence in elementary k-6, then with the confidence growing give student's the skills necessary to read any book and solve any elementary math problem using a fantastic curriculum. My students look forward to coming to my tutoring sessions each week. History, science and writing composition are areas I focus on as well. Each tutoring session is limited to one subject, but I am available to teach all elementary subjects.

Geometry

Geometry is still my favorite math as it is the most analytical. Most students do not care for Geometry because it requires so much analytics, but once students learn the fundamentals of Geometry, they are better equipped to move into phase two, which is to analyze problems which require the application of the fundamentals to prove something true or false, or to find a solution. Geometry requires strong analytical and critical thinking skills which are not learned, only exercised and strengthened. I use a variety of tools and exercises related to geometry, logic, and reasoning to improve critical thinking skills. I also teach students the monumental process used to follow the logic and solve the problem. Whether it is elementary geometry or high school geometry, the goal is to learn the objectives and build our children's ability to think critically and see what is not there. I would love to help. All you have to do is update the information that WyzAnt requires and reply to this mail expressing your interest. I look forward to hearing from you.

Piano

I am the Executive Director of Emotions of Music School. I teach ages 6 yrs +. I have played from age 4 and started the piano school in 2010. I teach beginners, intermediate, advanced, performance/competition, and specialty-nuptial performance.

STAAR

I am a homeschool educator who works with students to become 2 academic grade levels higher than their actual grade levels. The STAAR Test, 2 levels above their grades, is given to my homeschool students as a requirement of promotion. Comprehensive reviews of objectives are a regular part of my homeschool regimen. I have a 100% success record in preparing students for the STAAR - all subjects, public and homeschool students.

TAKS

My TAKS preparation program includes taking the latest released TAKS test as a preliminary to identify where students are having problems and address those specific objectives. Once the objectives have been sufficiently covered and mastered, the student and I will work through every question on the practice test to reassure each is understood, then the student will take the practice test again alone. We will evaluate whether the student is prepared to pass the TAKS test or additional tutoring is required. Usually requires 4-2hr sessions in entirety. (8 hrs total; usually one month)

Voice (Music)

I have played piano since the age of 4 years old, learning to play both by ear and from score. I am also a singer-songwriter, part of a choir, a solo artist, on the praise team at church, the youth choir director of my church, and I run a music school that teaches students piano and voice. Also, looking for singers to join my community choir after a few lessons to exercise the vocal chords, to socialize and to have fun.
