I have been working with kids and teaching most of my life. I had my first babysitting job when I was 11. I am a working artist and published poet. Last year I was interviewed by Maya
Angelou for a radio program broadcast on the 4th of July. She is an amazing person to talk with. I have also met Duke Kahanamoku, Peter Max, Gwendolyn Brooks, LeRoi Jones, Kinky Friedman and Margaret Meade. None of them will remember me, but I remember them!
Last year I went to Kazakhstan and taught 8 year olds at an international school in Almaty. It was a wonderful experience. I lived in Japan and Hawaii when I was a kid.
My family did quite a bit of traveling.
I am interested in everything and enjoy reading

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse
. I also attended Eastern Illinois University and the University of Maryland-College Park( which was really at Yokota AFB in Tokyo, Japan). In 1992 I attended the Baylor Writing
