I have experience teaching middle school and elementary - history, English, Study Skills, reading, math. I also have experience in the high school classroom teaching History, Government and Economics. I have taught in classes with students with learning difficulties, such as Dyslexia, ADHD, and ADD. American History

I have completed all coursework for a Master's Degree in History with an emphasis in American History. I have also taught American and World History at the high school level. I have been successful at tutoring children to perform better on their history exams by using various study skills methods that are beneficial when memorizing large amounts of information.

Writing

I have taught 6+1 Writing Traits, IEW writing, and other writing techniques from 3rd grade through high school I have also been a part of grading high school and college level writing.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in reading, Math, spelling, and study skills/organization. I also have extensive experience with high school students in English, History, Government, and Economics. I am finishing a master's degree in History and Government. I look forward to working with your children.

Phonics

I have several different phonics programs in the public school, including Bonnie Detmer Phonics, Phonics Zoo, IEW. I have also taught phonics to home schooled children in the early elementary years.

Study Skills

I have taught study sills at the middle school level in private school. I have also worked individually with students in both middle and upper elementary grades in study skills, organization, and test-taking strategies. I have sued to SOAR program in some of my study skills classes. I look forward to working with your child.

College Counseling

I have experience teaching at the high school level. I have also assisted many students with the college application and scholarship process.

Social Studies

I have an undergraduate degree in political science and a masters' in history and political science. I have taught social studies in private schools and home school settings for many years.
