I am Cody D., a 25 year old male who is very passionate about mathematics. I am still currently a student at the University of Houston pursuing my major of Education with an emphasis in elementary and intermediate school in mathematics. Over the years I have tutored fellow students and children ranging from k-9 in various subjects ranging from spelling, to psychology, and of course mathematics. Although success is never guaranteed, I typically have had great success in adapting material so that it makes the most sense for the individual student and they normally do much better, as much as 2 letter grades. I have done student teaching for elementary school and after school tutoring with elementary and intermediate students. I am highly motivated and passionate when it comes to helping students do the absolute best they can to help set them up for future success.
When I tutor other students, typically k-9 students, I first like to assess the situation and learn about the way they are seeing things that they are having difficulties with. I figure out the best learning style that works with them and adapt my teaching or tutoring to fit the individual needs of that student to best make sense of trouble areas. I have some experience with students with learning disabilities, mostly with ADD or ADHD
I also scored 740 on my SAT math exam, and a 1380 overall on the old format SAT (1600 max score). I am proficient in statistics, psychology, spelling, elementary school material, middle school material, nutrition, fitness, and math from basic arithmetic through algebra/geometry and up to pre-calculus.
