I've been in the Katy, TX area for about a year now after having graduated as a mechanical engineering major from UCIrvine last summer (2013). I have had my WyzAnt profile hidden for the last 6 months while I worked as an intern for a small Oil & Gas Pipeline Inspection company. Recently however, the company was bought out and none of the employees were offered positions. Which brings me back to WyzAnt to support myself, meet new people, and network.
I've tutored a very diverse suite of students and subjects. I started tutoring as a volunteer at a women's shelter in GED preparation, and fell in love with volunteering and teaching. I've tutored mostly math and science subjects including: physics, chemistry, elementary math, algebra, calculus, C programming, and a few undergraduate engineering courses. I am very comfortable teaching the subjects, and find that my engineering degree helps me to make concrete examples for abstract theories.
My tutoring methods are unrefined as my students have had very different ways of learning. When I teach I believe that practice and application are essential for students to fully internalize the concepts.
As far as my personality goes, I am very much an open book. I am an easy going and patient teacher and strive to have sessions be both fun and engaging.
I welcome any questions about myself or my tutoring experience, and look forward to working with you to achieve your goals!
