I started taking formal Spanish classes in 6th grade, continued through junior high and high school, and earned a minor in Spanish at Texas State University. In college, I traveled abroad to Cuernavaca, Mexico where I studied Spanish and perfected my everyday communication skills. I have also lived and worked abroad in Villahermosa, Mexico.
Being a native English speaker, I remember the difficulties I had when first learning Spanish and I use that to tap into my students' needs. I have classroom and real world experience and over the past 10 years I have developed the tools necessary to simplify Spanish grammar for my students. My expertise is in breaking difficult concepts into understandable terms and making sure my students have the knowledge they need to ace their exams. Whether we are working on listening, reading, writing, or conversational skills, I make sure that my students walk away from every session feeling more confident and in control. I am passionate about seeing my students succeed and nothing makes me happier than sensing their excitement about becoming bilingual.
In addition to being a Spanish tutor, I am also the author of a Spanish language textbook which breaks down difficult grammatical concepts and I provide a copy to each of my tutoring clients.
It would be my pleasure to be the Spanish tutor to help take you to the next level in your Spanish learning. If you have any questions for me, please don't hesitate to ask. Looking forward to chatting about you or your student's needs.
Saludos,
Kristen
