Hello, after 27 years in California, I chose to bring my talents to Texas. I have been teaching for seven years and have taught nearly every grade from kindergarten through high school. I love what I do, and I bring enthusiasm and creativity to every aspect of my dedication to education. I am using tutoring as a way to explore the many districts of Texas, and I'm excited to bring my passion and expertise to Texas education.

I have been teaching reading for eight years now, and I have a California teaching credential and a master's in the best practices for teaching reading.

Writing

Writing is one of my personal passions. I have been writing on a professional level for many years and am even working on a book. I have taught writing for several years from kindergarten up through high school.

English

Teaching English is a personal favorite of mine, and I have several years experience teaching all English subjects at the elementary and high school levels.

Elementary Math

I have been an elementary teacher for 8 years and have taught all levels of math from kinder through 6th grade.

Elementary (K-6th)

I currently hold a California elementary teaching certificate, and I have been employed by the Elk Grove Unified School District, in California, for seven years. I have taught grades K-6 for a minimum of 1 school year each, except second and fifth grade.

Study Skills

I have exceptional organizational skills, and I'm well versed in several different note-taking strategies. I also have a solid understanding of multiple intelligences, which allows me to bring the the different curricula to the student's individual learning styles.

I have several years of experience working with students with special needs. My patience and ability to differentiate instruction allows me to meet the individual needs a diverse body of students.

Public Speaking

I have a long history with participating in public speaking events, from speaking in church, to leading peer groups, and being active in leadership events. I also have been an activities director, where I taught the students how to run school rallies. Public speaking is also a standard I taught for seven years at the elementary level.

ADD/ADHD

Being a California certificated teacher for 7 years, I've worked closely with many ADD/ADHD students in a classroom setting. I am well versed in differentiated instruction in order to meet the individual needs of the student.

Aspergers

I have two years of experience working with a variety of students who have been diagnosed with Aspergers. My patience and ability to differentiate instruction allows me to meet the individual needs a diverse body of students.

You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
