My name is Latifah R. I tutor MATH, SCIENCE, STUDY SKILLS, and BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS. I am interested in working with grades 3-7. I have the academic knowledge and the social skills that's needed to be a successful tutor, and a positive role model. I know that I can nurture student into becoming independent learners, learners that are in charge of their own learning, and learners that will grow to become leaders in our society. I have a Bachelor, and Master's Degree in the field of education, along with 5 years of teaching experience in math and science, 1 year of experience as an instructional math aide, 9 years of experience as an educational assistance, and 4 years of teaching basic computer skills. I can teach students the basics components that operates a computer, and how to use various software; PowerPoint, MovieMaker, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher, Web Easy Professional 8, PrintShop, etc. I love being creative with math and science, and incorporating it with technology! I am a strong believer that technology must be incorporated into students learning in order to give them the competitive edge that they need in order to be competitive in today's world.

Grammar

I have 5 years of teaching grammer on a 4th and 5th grade level. I can teach students the basics of syntax and linguistics. Students will learn the system of rules by which words are formed and how to put together words to make sentences. Students will learn how to express themselves clearly and fluently. Students will study the rules that govern the ways in which words are combined to form phrases, clauses, and sentences.

I am familiar with slide design and layout. I know how to insert animations, clip art, text, videos, charts and graphs. I have 4 years of teaching computer skills. I understand how to use Microsoft Publisher to create a variety of documents which includes, greeting cards, certificates, newsletters, and I am great with page layout and the various design templates made available. I also know how to design from scratch. I know how to integrates mail merge features, which is handy when you need to send publications to a list of customers, using HTML Web pages or PDF documents, and create brochures and flyers.
