I have always had a passion for children and for teaching. I completed an alternative certification program through Region 10 and went on to be a Bilingual Kindergarten teacher in Irving ISD. My undergraduate degree is in Accounting but my passion, as I have discovered throughout the years, is in teaching and uncapping potential in students. I believe that every child and adult can learn. I have studied different approaches to teaching and they must fit the individual in order for them to be engaged and to retain knowledge.
Throughout college I have worked tutoring and caring for those ranging from 2 months old to 25 years old. I have over 2 years experience working in a childcare facility center. I tutored at 2 different high schools subjects ranging from math, languages and English.
I am fully bilingual in Spanish and English, I attended school in Mexico for 4 years during elementary and it has been a very positive experience that aids me in my teaching skills presently.
I believe that my strengths are in teaching children ranging from Kindergarten to 6th grade, and also those who are on a journey to further their English language skills. I am a caring, empathetic and patient person who finds joy in guiding those through their educational experience. I am a lover of learning and have experience teaching with different methods: auditory, visually and kinesthetically. Each student learns a different way and a teacher must understand that to reach someone, they must put themselves at their students level and use the students interests and strengths to assist them in growing and succeeding in their academic career.
I am excited to be embarking on this journey and hope my experience, enthusiasm and creativity will help others to discover all the potential they have and instill a love for learning and personal fulfillment.
