I have a degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from Oklahoma State University with a pre-nursing option. During my studies I gained knowledge and experience in the physical, mental, and emotional development of people during their lifetime. As part of my study program I interned and eventually gained a job at a Family Resource Center. There I organized functions for the community, planned events for the center, taught English as a second language classes. During this time I taught individuals from age 13 – 55 years of age. There was also an after-school program where we provided care for children ages 2 + years old.
I have a very good understanding of English, reading, and the developmental stages of children. I love reading and am very patient in assisting children or adults in reading, English, or grammar.
I was a pre-nursing major. I loved taking pharmacology. I would love to tutor/assist in studying with someone in this subject or any other pre-nursing science.
In addition to my educational experience, I also was a co-leader in two non-profit organizations that worked to raise money for development in Kenya and Uganda. My participation in these two organizations consisted of spreading awareness of the needs, finding donors to support the cause, organizing donation activities, and orchestrating workers for the planned activities. After graduation I went to India for six months and interned at an organization called ARTH (Action Research and Training for Health) for three months. This organization works in civil rights, women and child health, and education of maternal care. I actively participated in ARTH’s midwifery training through research, data gathering and analyzing, and writing a paper for the organization over midwifery in Rajasthan, India. I was heavily involved with people from other cultures from around the world while working at the Family Resource Center and during my internship in Rajasthan, India. I feel completely comfortable with working with families from all cultures or regions of the world. I know a limited amount of Hindi but am continuing to study it and know a tiny bit of Spanish and Arabic. I love learning new traditions and am eager to learn more about cultures and your family.
Please let me know if you have any other questions and I can’t wait to meet you!
