I've worked in the 3D industry for over 9 years. My work has been used in TV shows, short films, training videos, training simulations, educational games, augmented reality applications, and an IMAX film. Some of the clients I've worked for include the History Channel on "Engineering an Empire: Egypt" and "Jurassic Fight Club", University of California, Berkeley, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Universal Health Systems, and Billings Productions. I've also worked for a high school as a 3D instructor for 2 years. I enjoy the possibilities that the 3D arts bring to industries around the world and enjoy passing on what I've learned.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Drawing

While getting my Bachelors of Fine Arts degree, I took a number of courses on drawing, design, color theory and life drawing classes by artists who worked for Walt Disney Studios. At my job, I was responsible for drawing set designs, character style sheets, and game concept designs. I've used a number of mediums including pencil, ink, charcoal. I also instructed at a high school as a 3d instructor. I helped students improve on their character style sheets by showing them how to quickly stylize and block out the human form in the most efficient way. I also showed them how to draw story boards for their short films.

Maya

I have worked with Autodesk Maya for 7 years as a professional in the 3D industry and 2 years as a 3D instructor. I attended the University of the Incarnate Word were I received a BFA in Computer Graphics Arts and 3D Animation while primarily using Maya. During my time as a 3D instructor, I found it helpful to have the students pick a project or theme that motivated them. I would then help them plan a way to cover the all the aspects of a typical 3D project from beginning to end.
