Hi there!
I'm Heather, or better known as "Ms. Harper" by my students. I am an experienced Special Education Teacher from Wisconsin and recently made Houston, Texas, my home. I've spent the last six years teaching in self-contained, resource and inclusion classroom settings. My areas of expertise include English Language Arts and Reading however, I've taught in every core subject as well. I hold a Wisconsin and Texas teaching license, certified in Alternative Education, and hold a Master's of Science Degree in Curriculum & Instruction as well. I understand what students with special needs require to succeed and how to help them understand their strengths. Whether or not your child was diagnosed with ADHD, ADD, Autism, SLD, EBD, or OHI- I can help.

In addition to being a special education teacher, in the summers I worked for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where I was an Advertising & Marketing and Public Relations Instructor for pre-college students grades 6-12. In this position, I taught students the essentials of marketing and public speaking. Students spent their time creating newspapers, magazines, commercials and performances.

Aside from teaching, I am a mother of two and understand what it takes to raise a child and only want to help them reach their highest potential. As a teacher, I want to say "Thank You" for being a wonderful and caring parent just by taking the initiative to browse this site in hopes to finding a tutor that can help your child succeed. We need more parents like you!

I am flexible with my schedule and can assist your child with their current homework, or create detailed lesson plans to align with your child's current curriculum. I would love the opportunity to speak with you and your child and together we can create a road-map to success!
