Tutoring should be like a glove that molds itself to fit to a baseball
player's hand. My students have done their best when I have molded my tutoring to address their individual weaknesses, augment their strengths, and present new material in a way that they can readily grasp. My tutoring is completely personal - it is based entirely upon the needs and goals of my individual student.
Attending Yale University was instrumental in helping me discern my academic passions, and surrounded me with students and faculty who helped me pursue them. I will be entering a PhD program in Systematic and Philosophical Theology in the Fall of 2015, and in the interim I am enthusiastic about tutoring high school students so that they can also enter the university of their choice and pursue their dreams. I have taught high school students in Kenya, and helped prepare them for their national examinations. I am confident that I will be able to help your son or daughter do their best on the most important tests of their high school careers.
Standardized Testing Success:
I specialize in SAT
, and GRE
Prep. I earned a 2340 on the SAT, and a 168/167 on the GRE. I also have extensive experience with the ACT and am currently editing
a teacher's guide for the ACT.
You want a tutor for your son or daughter who has exemplary character and could be a positive role model for your child during their teenage years. This is why I encourage my potential clients to reach out to the students' families I have tutored in the past. It is also why I feel it is important to share my own long-term goals: After the completion of my doctoral program, I plan on becoming a professor at a seminary or liberal arts college. Teaching is a life-long passion of mine. I hope to share my enthusiasm for teaching with you!
I have flexible hours, negotiable rates, and am willing to tutor in your home or at a convenient location near you. I have a full tutoring load at the moment, and am only looking for summer clients (I already have two lined up, so hurry!). Please don't hesitate to get in touch!
