I am a 2010 graduate of Southwestern University. I have been tutoring elementary school through high school-aged students part-time during college. I tutor all subjects (Spanish, ESL, Math, Science, History, English, etc.), including honors and advanced placement courses. I have tutored students with various ability levels, ranging from students with learning disabilities to those in the top ten percent of their class.
My professional experiences in educational settings include:
Head Dorm Parent & Spanish Teacher at a local private school in the energy corridor. I taught Spanish 1 through 4, and IB Spanish to high school students. Within the dorm, I ensured all students completed homework assignments. I kept track of the boarding students' academic status, and provided individual tutoring sessions when necessary.
In college, I interned at a school which specializes in working with children with neurological differences. During my internship, I was responsible for providing proper support for each student's cognitive, emotional and social development. The purpose of the summer program was to increase executive functioning skills (organization, strategic thinking, motivation, etc.) and instill skills in self-regulation, self-awareness, and relationship development. My experience with these children enable me to work with children that have ADD, ADHD, and Autism.
