Hola! I am a native Houstonian who fell in love with Spanish in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have studied Spanish as a second language for more than 10 years. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored college students in all levels of Spanish. For some students this meant patiently re-explaining classroom concepts and helping students firmly grasp the language; for other students, this meant making sure they knew enough to pass their finals. Every student's goals and abilities are different. I am still in contact with several of the folks I helped to walk across the stage, if you would like references.
After receiving my bachelor's, I briefly taught high school Spanish at a charter school and have also tutored adults learning ESL and Spanish. I have never wanted to teach Spanish in a classroom, working one on one is much more fun and effective. Whether you are struggling with a college, high school, or middle school course, seeking to learn Spanish for fun, or need to get a basic grip on grammar and job specific vocabulary, I will be there help you along the way.
When I was learning Spanish, I always felt that my teachers needed to be native speakers. However, I heard the most complaints from my pupils who had native Spanish speakers as instructors. While I consider myself to be bilingual and a fluent speaker, reader, and writer, I can still sympathize with how frustrating it was when I was first trying to learn Spanish. I've been there, and I would love to help you get over that hump and fall in love with Spanish like I have.
Can't wait to hear from you!
