I graduated, magna cum laude, with a B.A. in English from the University of Houston-Downtown.
I hold the following TEFL certification: Diploma en Enseñanza de Inglés (S.E.P. Certified) - 2009 from the International Teacher Training Organization, Guadalajara, Mexico. This is a four-week 140 hour intensive course with ten hours of observed teaching practice on groups of different abilities, including one to one teaching. To successfully complete the course, candidates were continuously assessed and required to complete and pass three research papers and a grammar test.
I have also taught TEFL and TESL in Mexico for a little over four years. I have experience teaching one on one and groups. I have taught engineers from various fields and a variety of backgrounds. My duties consisted of providing technical English group and private classes as well as revising/editing the translation of company documents. Said company documents consisted mostly of e-mails to international clients and import/export documentation. I taught several classes with children and young adults ranging from 5-14 years of age at an English language institute. I was required to provide my own teaching material and create my own lesson plans on a weekly basis.
I have a B.A. in English from the University of Houston-Downtown and have taught TEFL and TESL in Mexico for the past 4 years. I worked extensively on grammar. I am also a translator (Spanish to English, English to Spanish). I have worked teaching technical English at various international corporations in Queretaro, Mexico, and grammar comprises a large part of my curriculum. As an English major at university, excellence in grammar was a must.

I taught reading, writing, and speaking skills with the Holt McDougal Literature program for grades 7-9. The classes focused on teaching literature and complementing with grammar once a week. Classes were innovative and incorporated the use of film and music as well as encouraged creative writing and analysis on a daily basis. In my day to day life, I am an avid reader and writer. I believe that language transcends cultural boundaries and should be nurtured always. I am also a member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi- National English Honor Society.

As an English major, proofreading was a major component of my development. I had to write countless essays and critical analysis papers, and I couldn't have achieved magna cum laude status without excellent proofreading skills.

Naipaul, Salman Rushdie, and Rudyard Kipling to name a few.
I hold a B.A. in English and have 1 year and half of previous SAT reading and vocabulary tutoring under my belt. I taught two Korean sisters studying abroad in Mexico 4 days a week. Our work consisted mostly of writing, reading, and vocabulary lessons. Dominating their reading skills was important in the retention of their newly acquired vocabulary. We worked a lot on deducing and inducing, meaning to improve their reading comprehension and fluency. Several online tools as well as different textbooks were used to work on passage-based reading and sentence completion.
I taught two Korean students SAT Writing for about a year an a half. We used many online resources as well as SAT textbooks to help develop their writing skills. I assigned weekly essay assignments: short paragraphs based on specific issues. We worked on establishing a stance and building arguments in order to help develop their own points of view. Well-developed writing with supportive ideas was our main goal.
I am a fluent Native Spanish speaker. I was born in Mexico and returned to Mexico 4 years ago to teach TEFL/TESOL. I have experience as a translator. I've even done several months of simultaneous translating, on site, at different international companies. I can translate Spanish/English and English/Spanish spoken and written, with ease.
I am a certified TEFL teacher with over 4 years experience teaching in Mexico. I also have extensive experience teaching technical writing and literature. Grammar is a key part of my lessons.
I have a B.A. in English, am a certified TEFL instructor, and have experience as an SAT reading and writing tutor. Teaching vocabulary has always formed a part of my lessons. I am also an avid reader and creative writer. I know from experience that one word can make or break any text or idea.
I hold a B.A. in English. I was previously hired to build a comprehensive middle school literature program as well as teach grades 7th-9th. Classes were innovative and incorporated the use of film and music as well as encouraged creative writing and analysis on a daily basis. Writing is a major part of my formation as a scholar. While in university, I received the 2008 Fabian Worsham Creative Writing Prize (UHD). I also attend writing workshops on a recreational basis and write creatively on a daily basis. Without writing I might cease to exist. I am enamored with the art of writing and all the worlds that come with it.
