I have been in school for 20 years, and have been a teaching assistant, mentor, organizer, motivator, and leader of students and others. I first learned computer programming at six years old! I taught myself my 2nd programming language before I was in high school! I have helped create an educational website for an Austin ISD science class following IEEE software engineering processes and standards. I helped program a video game using state of the art artificial intelligence. I have been elected to lead in several organizations including as education officer, Industry Liason, literature officer, as well as group representative of several organizations including a computer programming interest group and a cultural student group at the University of Texas at Austin. I have researched and created lectures for various organizations, helped organize educational events for high school and college students, scheduled viewings of informative documentaries, devised and implemented a curriculum of classes, and brought in guest lecturers currently working in their fields (including famous video game designer Warren Spectre, designer of the "System Shock" and "Deus Ex" series of video games.)
I have struggled with a bad memory my whole life, but have learned various short cuts and tricks to help memorize things. I also know a number of math tricks that can aid in speeding up multiplication and division (for anyone struggling in math). Finally, I know a few things about studying habits, and learning styles that can also help my pupils.
I also enjoy games, and believe the use of games helped peak my interest in reading and math, without me realizing it.
I can aid in all levels of math up to calculus. I am also experienced in the following programming languages: C, C++, Java, HTML, Code 2, and RISC Assembly Language. I specialize in beginner programming, video game programming, and video game development. Finally, I can also assist students needing to know US or World History, or need help with learning Adobe Photoshop, or any of the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
