Just a bit about myself. I am from Houston, TX born and raised. I went to Lamar High School, then I attended the University of Texas at Austin. I majored in Biology/Pre-Med with an emphasis on Microbiology. I tutored my peers while at the university in chemistry and biology topics. I graduated with a 3.7 GPA. After taking the MCAT, I applied to medical school and decided to go the University of Texas Health Science Center. I recently graduated (5/2013) with my MD degree. During my tenure in medical school, I also tutored biochemistry and some other biology topics. I have a passion for teaching, and I think there is nothing more gratifying than explaining a concept in a new way.
Although my focus is science, I am strong in most subjects and willing to work hard with you to get the results you want. I don't believe in "giving answers", I feel the best way to learn is with gentle guidance and examples. Followed by you doing the problems yourself and then us going over the topic again together. I may prepare mini quizzes for you during our sessions to test your comprehension level.
If you have any other questions about my qualifications, please let me know.
