Hello, my name is Robert. I've studied Computer Science at the University of Houston for the last two years. You may ask why would you tutor? Well it all started when I was working as a substitute at a high school in Houston. Students would always be amazed to know that my favorite subject was calculus specifically and Math generally. "Solving Math is like a hobby" I used to say. After giving some classes on material already explained by their teacher I discovered the weak points. It turned out, as I explained to the students, that they have been taught that Math is a hard subject to pass. They have never been taught Math the simple way. Long story short, humans by nature fear the unknown and that's the reason most high school students fear Math. Trust me, Math is the coolest subject you can learn! It's fun once it starts to make sense for you. In the end, everything in life is based on Math.
About my experience, I have taught high school students here in the United States subjects starting from precalculus to calculus III. I have made A's in my calculus courses. I have also taught younger students from middle schools here in Houston. I have the passion to teach Math the way I learned it, so basic and simple.
About US History/PoliSci, I have learned those in my first year at college here at Houston. They were made very hard for us, honestly, by our university professors. We had to read extra material in addition to the course main book. Now when I look back I realize that this was a blessing. I earned A's and B+ in all those courses where to get an A you needed 94+ and a B+ was 90+.
Programming courses were really more like hobby courses at university. I would sit there with nothing and end up with 500+ lines of code after a couple of hours. Programming is really easy once you catch up on the basics. It all builds up once you attain the little building blocks of any program.
Last but not least you can try me and if you like my tutoring we can continue all the way till you achieve your goals. If not, it would be an honor to get to know you. Either way there is nothing to lose! I'm waiting for your contact!
