Texas Tech Univerisity (Chemistry, BS)
Hi! I grew up in Mississippi and attended high school there. Ever since I graduated from high school I wanted to come to Texas. When I was 19, I packed up and did. I worked in Texas for a while so that I could get my instate residency and then attended college at Texas Tech University. At Texas Tech, I majored in Chemistry with a minor in computer science. I took quite a few math courses as well as some engineering courses. After TTU, I moved back to Houston and started working in various industries as a chemist and enjoyed it.
I briefly taught at the University of Houston as a TA and this is how I discovered I really enjoy teaching. While at UH, I taught chemistry lab, but I also worked with students on their math and physics courses.
My love for teaching now has brought me here to WyzAnt where I am hoping to find students for whom I can explain in easier terms what they are having problems in. My schedule is open. I work around your time. I can tutor from early mornings to late at night (about 10 pm). I can meet you where you feel comfortable whether it be at your home, a coffee shop, a bookstore, or even a library. I am a native English speaker and am extremely patient and will take my time to make sure you understand the concepts you are having problems with. If you are looking for a tutor to teach your kids, yourself, or even another family member, please write me.
I tutor on your time. Tutoring is a full time thing for me. This is what I do and the only thing I do. I would love to have you as a student on YOUR time not MINE. You tell me when it is convenient for you. I tutor mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights and weekends as well. MY SCHEDULE FILLS UP FAST!! PLEASE EMAIL ME SO I CAN GET YOU IN FOR FINALS. I WORK ALL 7 DAYS and UP TO 11PM AT NIGHT!
Below I have added a bit of my experience:
I have tutored a student at Cinco Ranch High School in Katy TX. He was not doing very well (He had a D average) in AP Calculus AB. His mother emailed and asked me for help. I helped him get up to a B and a 4 out of 5 on the AP Calculus exam. I taught him basic test taking skills. He and his mother were very happy with the results.
I have taught students at Cy Fair ISD as well as Katy ISD. I have had many students from Taylor, Seven Lakes, and Cinco Ranch.
I have students that I tutor from Kincaid High School and Junior High, a very nice private school in Houston.
I currently have students who attend Second Baptist School. I am tutoring algebra and they are doing well in the subject.
Along with high school students I have tutored many college level students who attend HCC, LSC, UH and as well as the Texas Tech students who visit Houston in the summer and take summer classes. Hi! I am taking Calculus in college and was having extreme difficulty. After going to the math lab on campus and spending time after class with my teacher I was still lost. After just one session with Faraz I am back on track. He explained implicit differentiation in a way that made it so easy to understand. He also helped me with a method to break down complex physics type word problems to identify what the question is asking and how to attack and solve them systematically. Unlike many "math" people Faraz was down to earth and SO SO easy to understand. He also responded to all my communications very quickly and was able to work with my very busy schedule. I am very happy with his service and will definitely use it again.
We really count our blessings that we found Faraz! He has been fantastic working with my 11th grade son. My son looks forward to when Faraz is coming!
Faraz has worked with my son 3 times prior to tests and his grade has improved two letters! He's so knowledgeable and can relate to teens well. I highly recommend him.
I was struggling hard with advanced chemistry and algebra 2, I felt like I was falling apart and was about to switch to regular. Faraz has completely changed my year, now I have a better hold on what I am doing. During the entire time Faraz was tutoring me, he reassured me I would do great on my test or quizzes. I highly recommend him to anyone struggling.
It was just a day left befor final exam of chemistry and calculus, and my son who was in freshman mechanical engineering class in May 2013, was freaking out, and spent half of his day finding tutor in his university tutoring session. It was so last minute and he had his teacher didn't cover alot of chapters and some logics were not making sense to him. He was really getting worried for his finals and didn't want to mess up his GPA and scholarship.
I was so lucky to find Faraz through WyzAnt tutoring service. I sent him a message about situation my son was in. He promptly replied back and was willing to come by same day to help my son. After couple hours of session, my son was very please and was fully confident at his chemistry and math preparation.
Even on the final exam day Faraz was helping my son on his question just before exam, via emails.
Absolutely exceptional services we got from Faraz.
Sure enough he did great on his exams and got all 'A's. Couldn't have done without Faraz help.
Faraz responded immediately to our request and was very accommodating to our busy schedule. He was very well prepared for our lessons and our kids both thought his teaching style was very concise and thorough. He has a very in depth knowledge of his subjects and was able to tailor the lessons around their different levels. They both liked him and his style of teaching. He is very pleasant and easy to work with and we would highly recommend him!
Faraz was an great tutor for me, he helped me with all aspects of calculus including test strategy and full understanding of the material in all the ways it could be asked.
He is a good guy and a great tutor.
Faraz is very patient and has a wonderful way of explaining information to my son. After only a few lessons, my son has a much better understanding of Chemistry than he ever did. Faraz is also very accommodating about meeting time and places. Faraz has already been a great help to my son in a short amount of time.
Faraz is a great tutor willing to work with you on your time schedule. He speaks clear English, he's very polite, and you get quality one on one help when you work with him. I would recommend him.
I applied to WyzAnt and very quickly received a call from Faraz. He was very accommodating and met me on the campus. The instruction was very in depth and very easy to understand. He alleviated much of the anxiety and stress I had because of the condensed course. I'm looking forward to working with Faraz again in the very near future! Highest Recommendation Possible!
After meeting with my son for the first time, my son walked away saying " Mom he just explains physics so clearly to me and I totally get what he is saying!" While trying to figure out where to have the tutoring sessions, Faraz was very accommodating and found a neutral location that was not far from our house, in addition to being able to tutor at our requested times.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have tutored this subject from high school all through college and even reviewed it in the study of calculus with many of my students. Algebra II is the basis for the advanced maths such as pre-cal and calculus. A little help now can go a long way!
Calculus is probably one of my most favorite subjects to tutor. I have helped many students in calculus I and calculus II. We begin with the study of limits and go into graphing, differentiation, and the many types of integration. Calculus I and II are used in many subjects including engineering, physics, and computation chemistry.
I have a degree in chemistry and have taught this subject to many students. I have reviewed basic chemistry as well as more advanced techniques.
I am familiar with UNIX and Linux and have installed it on my computer. I am familiar with basic commands in Linux as well as UNIX. Linux is a graphic-based operating system, much like Windows except more powerful. I can help walk you through Linux as well as edit files, do some C++ programming, and help you compile programs in Linux.
I have worked for years with MS Windows including Windows 97, XP, 7, and 8. I can install the program and have had programming experience as well in various languages. I can show students the basics as well as advance features of Windows including installing hardware and software, removing applications, saving and deleting files.
I studied organic chemistry in college while majoring in chemistry. It has been a few years since I have done organic, however I have had to use the basic tools they teach in organic such as spectroscopy in my every day work as a chemist. The junior organic chemistry course is typically based upon the octet rule. It goes to nomenclature as well as learning basics about hydrocarbons. I am comfortable with explaining the basics in organic chemistry.
Pre-Calculus is a math that mixes both algebra and trigonometry as well as some physics. I have tutored pre-cal to many students in Cy-Fair and Memorial. A strong pre-cal foundation can help you succeed in AP Calculus AB/BC. It is one of the more difficult subjects but can be taught in an easy way.
