My major focus is assisting the student in how to think in order to learn effectively. Critical thinking and creativity is an extremely elements in learning and living. We all need to be Renaissance people with an fine array of tools to enhance our talents.
I worked in the space shuttle and International Space Station (ISS) programs at NASA-Johnson Space Center as an engineer. I developed software for the flight controllers in the early days of the Space Transportation System aka the space shuttle. I trained them in the use of the software for analyzing problems in any of the systems. I worked in the Mission Control Center as back-room support in the ISS program with responsibility for collecting, organizing, and uplinking documents for the ISS crew.
I use my photography to tell stories and design virtual products for sale online internationally. I write blogs on CNN iReport and other blog sites and include my personal photographs of historic moments. There are a variety of software tools for making the most of images and words -- Adobe Photoshop and many other photo editing software. Social media networking is wonderful for starting discussions and sharing information very quickly.
In this global and digitally connected world, language skills are vital. I enjoy the interactive element in writing whether it is English or a foreign language. I have traveled to many countries where I had rely upon my ability to communicate in a foreign language. I also taught foreign students to speak and write in English with a better understanding of how it works in daily situations.
