Sometimes we all need a little extra help, and I am here to help your child succeed in school.
My name is Heather and I am an Instructional Coach for a school in the Houston area at a 5-6 campus. I have been in the education field for nine years and have taught grades 3-8. At school, I currently assist teachers with curriculum and any needs they may have in the classroom. In the past I have taught Reading, Math, and Science. I currently tutor one class a day at my school, so I am up with the latest expectations students are expected to be successful on the STAAR Test as well as instructional strategies that prove student success.
My philosophy in teaching and learning is that instruction should be differentiated as well as student focused. Students must master the basics before they move on to more complex ideas using various research based instructional techniques such as: hands-on, thinking maps, and kinesthetic movement.
