Hello,
Welcome to my WyzAnt profile, and thank you for your interest!
If you want someone who can take complex ideas and simplify them to be easily understood - look no further. I am your best tutor!
I have over 10 years teaching and tutoring experience, and I love it! My specialty is one-on-one subject tutoring, but I have also worked with small groups ranging from 2-3 students to large lecture classes of 50+ undergraduates. I have experience working with students of many ages, from sixth graders studying algebra to college students of all majors. I even worked with several students pursuing their graduate degrees. My favorite subjects to tutor are biology, mathematics, and academic essay writing, but I also enjoy helping students learn effective studying and test-taking skills. As a scientist, the most valuable skill I have is logical data presentation. This skill translates into any academic area, from math and sciences to academic essay writing to effective study skills. I love sharing my knowledge! If you're in doubt as to whether I teach a certain subject, just ask!
A little about me: I graduated cum laude from Montana State University in 2004 with a dual degree in Cell Biology/Pre-Med and Microbiology, having completed an Honors Thesis in Microbiology. I was then admitted into a highly competitive Pathology graduate program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I graduated in 2009 with a Ph.D. in Pathology. Since obtaining my Ph.D., I have been employed by the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center as a full-time research scientist. Throughout my educational and professional career, I have been recognized by several prestigious awards and scholarships, as well as published several articles and co-authored a book chapter. Upon request, I would be happy to provide you with a copy of my CV or resume.
