I have a degree in History from St. Mary's University. I spent two years researching for my senior thesis while studying all aspects of history including two years of American History.
I have two years of experience teaching elementary math in Houston public schools. I have a wealth of activities and materials to aid in instruction.
I have two years of experience teaching elementary students in Houston. Science was one of my favorite subjects to teach because of the variety of subjects, materials and activities that highlight student engagement.
I have a degree in English that has greatly increased my skills in teaching the subject. I enjoy reading and sharing my skills with my students. I have many materials and books to aid with English studies.

I believe grammar is essential to all communication in our nation. I have a degree in English and taught grammar for two years while teaching elementary students. I have several resources to make learning and practicing grammar fun for all of my students.
During the summer months my students would often request that I do independent sessions with them for ISEE prep. I have two years of experience teaching elementary and middle school age students in ISEE prep for schools around the Houston area. I have learned many successful test-taking strategies and skills to help my students succeed on the ISEE and gain entry into select schools.
As an avid reader, I thoroughly enjoy reading all types of literature. I have a private library at home with adult and children works. I taught reading to elementary students for two years and while obtaining my degree in English, I tutored high school and college students in Literature.
I have two years of experience teaching phonics in Houston. I am also certified by Neuhaus for their Language Enrichment program which focuses on phonics and spelling.
I am a writer by nature and therefore proofreading is an essential skill to my work. While obtaining my degree in English I aided my college peers in proofreading their papers and projects.
I taught reading for two years in Houston to students of all ages. I have a large personal library and a wealth of materials to aid in instruction.
Spelling is instrumental in all aspects of education. I have a complete spelling curriculum that I used while teaching elementary students to aid my students and increase their spelling retention skills.
As a teacher and student I have had to master various study skills including: time management, organization, intervention, tutoring and research. These skills I have successfully transferred to my students as a part of their academic curriculum. Study skills are necessary to be successful not only in the classroom, but to lay the foundation to be successful with time management in life.
Vocabulary is a necessary skill for all students. It aids in writing, reading and everyday communication. I taught reading for two years at the elementary level and have a great deal of vocabulary resources at my disposal.
World History was one of my favorite subjects in high school and my area of focus in college. I enjoyed the subject so much that I made a point to study abroad just so I could visit important historical locations throughout Europe. My love of history is contagious and I have acquired several historical books for my personal library that aid in my teaching.
Writing is a skill that I love to teach and practice. I have three years of experience teaching writing to elementary students and six years of experience teaching writing to high school and college level students. I find that students respond well to clear concise instructions followed by short exercises to practice skills. These skills, once learned and retained, are easily transferred to paper once the student has gained confidence.
