Hi Everybody,
My name is Mike, and I may be the ideal tutor for you!
I studied and worked in Japan for 15 years and have a great appreciation for the challenges that native English speakers face when learning Japanese!
I started studying Japanese as an undergraduate at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Upon graduation, I moved to Osaka to study at Kansai Gaidai. At that time I lived with a Japanese family. I further developed my language skills through a 2-year intensive language program at Sony Language Laboratory in Osaka, and 2 years of advanced Japanese studies at Cornell University.
After completing a lot of formal coursework both in Japan and the US, I was hired by John Deere. I worked in the overseas marketing group and was sent to Japan on assignment to sell construction equipment for 2 years. From there I went on to head up the Industrial Products Group at Nippon Donaldson in Tachikawa for 6 years. Most recently I served as the President and Managing Director of Nilfisk, Japan in Yokohama, where I headed up the business for 3 years.
If you are looking for a tutor who can teach you how to read, write and speak Japanese from the perspective of a native English speaker, then I am the person who can help you learn quickly!
I really hope to hear from you!
Kind regards,
Mike
