Greetings,
My name is Hector M. and I aspire to help students to succeed academically and to maximize their potential! I graduated from Harvard College in 2008 with a degree in Psychology and was imbued with the spirit of mentoring and service during my undergraduate years. Specifically, I devoted a significant amount of my time to participate in extracurricular activities and student organizations that were involved in community service and provided academic tutoring and resources for at-risk and disadvantaged youth. I am currently involved in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Houston program and firmly believe that we devote our time and energies to uplift the youth and to cultivate and to nurture their gifts.
I have extensive tutoring and mentoring experience, specifically in Math (General Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry), Language Arts (Spelling, Vocabulary, Writing, Proofreading), Reading Comprehension, and for helping students to pass their respective state examinations. I believe in a collaborative and hands-on approach and will work with my students to identify their strengths and weakness and to devise simple, yet effective strategies to help them improve in critical areas such as: studying habits, test-taking skills, and time-management.
I am looking forward to connecting with students and helping them to improve their academic performance. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you have any additional questions or concerns. Thank you!
