I am certified to teach K-12 composite Social Studies (Geography, History, Economics, Government)and ESL (English as a Second Language). I have a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. I have had 14 years of experience as a public school social studies teacher. Currently, I am a full-time teacher of 7th grade Texas History. Additionally, I have taught 8th grade for several years, along with high school government. I have also had many years teaching ESL as a part-time tutor (through Houston Community College and various private language schools). I enjoy working with kids and adults alike. I am easy-going, but also serious and very dedicated to my profession. I am competent, experienced, and always prepared with interesting lessons. I like to use a combination of teaching strategies, depending on the learner's style. I think learning should be an enjoyable and natural experience for both the teacher and student.
