Since I started working as a tutor in my country, I have had the pleasure to meet students of all ages and of different knowledge levels, from first grade all the way to college. I have taught in English, German and Spanish, so language is not a barrier for me.

The biggest class that I have had for teaching was 350 students. As a tutor, I have even had up to 4 different students, from four different levels, from the same family. I have worked with home-schooled, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, as well as with gifted and talented students.

I work at the student's pace and follow partly the books that the students use, but also show the student different ways of solving the same problem, focusing mostly on the logic of the problem and not on formulas, since the logic then creates the formulas.

I am a native Spanish speaker and also hold the "Sprachdiplom I" and "Sprachdiplom II" certifications in German.

My work is mostly one on one, but if you need help with more than one of your children, I can also work with two or more.

Algebra 1

Algebra mostly deals with solving problems that you may encounter in your every day life, believe it or not, as for example, discounts, or who has to pay the most when going out to lunch. It can be tricky, but with the proper techniques, it can become an easy subject.

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 is the continuation of Algebra 1. As I said in the Algebra 1 description, it can be tricky, but with the proper techniques, it can become an easy subject.

Grammar

I had to study almost 6 months, daily, Monday to Friday, for two hours, to learn everything I could about grammar. This topic is not about spelling, but mostly about the proper way of writing.

Microsoft Excel

Cells, columns, rows, tables and spreadsheets can be used for more than just creating lists of friends with their phone numbers and addresses.
Excel is a powerful tool to be used for calculations, as well as for some small databases.
Formulas can be created, and functions and more can be found in this program. With the proper knowledge and training, you can even create graphs and solve some equations.

Geometry

Geometry is the study of shapes and the relations between the sides, perimeters and areas. With the proper train of thought and a bit of practice, the formulas can be deducted and learned easily.

Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word is not only about typing letters and doing homework. It can also be used to create trifolds and even mail merge, in conjunction with Excel.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taught elementary age students from 5 years of age all the way to 11 years of age in all subjects of school, including math, English, history, geography and others.
I have even taught more than one student, from the same family, at the same session.

DOS

I started working with DOS back in 1986, when computers only had floppy drives and maybe, if you were lucky enough, a 10 MB hard drive.
I know most, if not all of the commands in DOS and can even change most of the settings in the command prompt.
I have been teaching people how to use DOS for over 10 years.

Logic

I have been teaching this subject for over a decade and always have fun with it. I have taught in big classes, of up to 350 students at a time, with the Army and also one-on-one.
In logic you use letters and symbols to represent statements, which can be either true or false. Based on the rules of logic, you can then determine if the group of statements are true or false.
