I am a former pre-k-3 teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Theology from the University of St. Thomas. I am currently a stay-at-home-mom looking to re-enter the working world through tutoing. I have tutored children off and on since I was in high-school. I believe that every child learns differently, and therefore my teaching methods are created on a case by case basis. For example, if your child is a visual learner, tools such as flashcards and worksheets can be very helpful. However if your child is an auditory learner, verbal quizzes and repetition are more useful. For tactile learners, going through the motions and involving actions and movements into learning will achieve the best results. I am most comfortable tutoring in subjects for grades kindergarten through eighth grade. I have three children of my own and understand the importance of good grades and a good education for the future. My schedule is flexible in the late afternoon and evening.
