I am a young professional with a full time job in sales; however, I have a strong passion for teaching and greatly miss speaking French on a regular basis. While in college I completed a summer intensive to begin learning the language, studied abroad, and then continued my French studies until I graduated. I then moved to Paris for a year following graduation where I was offered a position as an English language assistant teacher in a French high school. I was also a nanny for a French family who spoke little English during this time. I tutored an American adult (In French), a Saudi college student (In English) and a French high-school student (In English) while in Paris and am very confident in working with any of these age groups again. My strength is in pronunciation and speaking - and this is something that is difficult to find in today's schools.
I approach tutoring with the same enthusiasm I had when I first started learning another language. The experience should not be mundane or by any means dull and wrote. Language (Whether English, French, Spanish, and Italian etc) should be taught and learned with a full understanding of the culture. If one cannot be immersed in the actual culture at the time, then the food, music, phrases, political structure and school systems should be incorporated into the lessons as much as possible.
I look forward to sharing my passion for language with you no matter what age you might be!
