Since I had been in Addis Ababa University where I had earned 192 credit hours in different subjects, I started tutoring students with mathematics, English and Chemistry outside of campus for individual students. Although I had joined the social science college studying English literature as my major, my interest proved to be the science department. I continued to tutor students with chemistry, English language, Mathematics and sometimes physics before I came to U.S.A in 2005. Since then, I was trying to go to pharmacology school for myself at various times. In 2009 fall semester, I joined Nashville Community College where I had taken 15 credit hours. I have an ‘A’ in Precalculus, a ‘B’ in General Chemistry, an ‘A’ in ESOL, and an ‘A’ in Developmental Writing. Even if I didn’t tutor at Nashville Tech due to crowded time, I informally tutored some international students in the Sudanese community in Nashville in 2010.
Here I am again ready to share my experience and assist students in various subjects. I am definitely sure you will get what you expect from an experienced tutor like me. I used many different ways of teaching methods to satisfy my student’s needs. I focus on an individual's type of learning. Some are visual while others are listeners. There are also types of students who need a combination of visualization, hearing and through try and error as well.
Therefore, I learned to design a way to use student's willingness and interest in the subjects I teach. I ask myself whether I am able to dig out my student's desire to learn. I will try to be his or her favorite teacher. I will be resourceful to my student's individual interest in his subject. I try to read my students level of understanding and solve the problem individually. Tutoring in many areas of subjects, like chemistry, math, grammar, biology and physics, have put me in a better position to better understand my students than many other tutors. I already have a selection of books to start with but I am always ready to update myself for changes in curriculum and upgrade my skills. Thank you very much for reading my post and I hope you will try me to bring a change in your child's interest. Together we can shape our next generation. Thank you again for reading my post.
