My name is Albert and I have recently graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a business minor. I have tutored in some areas of math coursework. To list a few, I do Linear Algebra, Calculus 1, 2, and 3, Algebra 1 and 2, and maybe Geometry at a high school level. If you are heading to the military, I can also get you ready for the ASVAB test math section.

I can help you with how to solve the problem. For example, I can determine your type of learning skills and use that to help you succeed. I myself have done some problems on my own. I would break down the problem by reading the word problem twice. I would cross out unnecessary information that is not sufficient and figure out what the problem is asking me what to do. Lastly, I would figure out what order of operation to use (subtraction, addition, multiplication, and division) in order to solve the problem. I would explain to you why we would use this method to solve the problem. I would allow you to explain if you had another suggestion for how to solve the problem in a different way.

Meanwhile, I moved back to the Houston area two weeks ago. I am extremely focused on your specific needs to help you in a specific math topic regarding your grade level whether you are in elementary school or all the way up to college. I am going to help you succeed on your math homework assignments, tests, and quizzes.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I am familiar with expressions and equations such as (order of operations, distributive property, solving one-two step equations, and writing variable expressions for algebraic expressions), Linear Equations (translate math sentences into numerical equation, solving equations with one, two, and three variables using systems of equations, absolute value equations)
Representing Linear Equations (Solving Inequalities equations, (Graphing equations in slope intercept form and determining rate of change using slope formula y=mx+b)
Polynomials (Multiplying, Dividing using long division, Monomials, Trinomials, Completing a Square, using Quadratic Formula, and using Square Root Property), Factoring including Grouping
Fractions (Multiplying, Adding, Dividing, and Subtracting Fractions, Ratios and Proportions, Percents), and solving radical equations

Algebra 2

I have some skills in solving one-two step equations, absolute value equations, logarithms equations, systems of equations for 2-3 variables, factoring, grouping, exponential and logarithm properties. I also am good at graphing such as finding slope using point slope form, finding x-y intercept, and determining if two equations are perpendicular or parallel. I can help you in augmented matrices, and with parametric equations far as sketching the equations on graph and solving for t for one of the equations.

ASVAB

I specialize in math knowledge such as basic algebra, numerical, fractions, addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication problems, percentages, and arithmetic reasoning such as fractions, interest word problems, basic probability, statistics, proportions, etc.

Calculus

I specialize in calculating limits, how to prove a limit exists, determine if a function exists or not. I can help you in finding a derivative using the definition of derivative, rate of change, and calculating anti-derivatives.

Geometry

I'm familiar with differences between radians and degree on how to converting radians to a degree and similarly converting a degree to radians. Finding the midpoint, using Pythagorean Theorem associating with Trigonometry and Unit Circle. I know how to calculate area and perimeter of triangle, trapezoid, other shapes. I can distinguish difference between all types of angles including alternating, supplementary, complementary, and etc.

Prealgebra

I am familiar with expressions and equations such as (order of operations, distributive property, solving one-two step equations, and writing variable expressions for algebraic expressions), Linear Equations (translate math sentences into numerical equation, solving equations with one, two, and three variables using systems of equations, absolute value equations).

Representing Linear Equations (Solving Inequalities equations, Graphing equations in slope intercept form and determining rate of change using slope formula y=mx+b, also using point slope form formula y-y1=m(x-x1) to determine an equation of a line passing through point P(x1,y1)).

Polynomials (Multiplying, Dividing using long division, Monomials, Trinomials, Completing a Square, using Quadratic Formula, and using Square Root Property), Factoring including Grouping
Fractions (Multiplying, Adding, Dividing, and Subtracting Fractions, Ratios and Proportions, Percents), and solving radical equations.

Precalculus

I can demonstrate and apply the laws of exponents and logarithms properties by solving 1-2 step logarithmic and exponential equations. I'm able to calculate limits algebraically using a table of values and graphs to estimate value of the limit. I understand how to use composite functions of f and g to compute problems and interpret functions graphically, solve for absolute, radical, and fractional equations.

The one important thing to remember is the formula for slope intercept form is y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. The other formula is y-y1=m(x-x1)  Recall m= y2-y1/x2-x1 so m= 1-2/0-3 = 1/3 is slope of the line where as  x1=3, x2=0, y1=2, and y2=1 y-2=1/3(x-3)...
