I recently finished graduate school at Texas Tech University and moved to Houston to start my career in engineering. I completed my electrical engineering undergraduate degree in 2009 with a cumulative 4.0 GPA. I finished my MBA and M.S. Finance degrees last year. During school, I was a tutor employed by Texas Tech. I was on staff at the Texas Tech Learning Center. I was also a physics supplementary instruction leader, official circuits course tutor in the electrical engineering department, and was highly recommended on the physics department tutor list.

In addition to engineering, calculus, and physics courses, I had the opportunity to help students with a wide-ranging list of different courses because of the open-door policy at the Texas Tech Learning Center. I have extensive experience tutoring business math, probability and statistics, economics, and finance courses. I'm a very patient person and a good listener. I am generally good at explaining things in a way that can be easily understood. I am happy to teach/tutor any level of student, but probably would do best with ages 13+. I enjoy tutoring because I like the challenge and enjoy helping others to succeed.

During my summers in college, I had engineering internships/co-ops with Kimberly Clark Corporation, BNSF Railway, and Luminant (Nuclear Power Plant). During grad-school, I was in the multi-million dollar Student Managed Investment Fund, which used Bloomberg Financial software to analyze stocks. Now in Houston, I am currently working full time as an electrical design engineer at a firm rated in Fortune's 2012 "100 Best Companies to Work For."

I am generally available to meet most evenings and week-ends.

Finance

While my background is engineering, I have an MBA in general business as well as a Master of Science in finance. I have taken courses on principles of finance, real estate, mortgage math, money markets, capital markets, the U.S. financial system, and bank management. I am very comfortable with time value of money calculations, bond values, mortgage values, and duration calculations among others. I am very knowledgeable about the U.S. financial system. Differential Equations

I tutor differential equations pretty regularly. I am comfortable with most of the different types of differential equation types covered in the first course, and I am comfortable with Laplace and Fourier transforms as well. I have taken two courses in differential equations and did well in both. Differential equations is one of my favorite subjects to tutor.

Business

I have an MBA in General Business as well as a Master of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. I earned both from Texas Tech University. Business courses that I tutor most often include business calculus/math, statistics, economics, and principles of finance. However, I do not tutor accounting courses.

Electrical Engineering

I have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Texas Tech, and I completed the curriculum with a 3.98 GPA (1 B). I regularly tutor circuits.

Civil Engineering

I have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. However, as part of the curriculum I took statics/mechanics. I have also passed the fundamentals of engineering exam and work full time as an electrical engineer. I have tutored statics/mechanics extensively in the past and would be very helpful in those courses. However, since my background is not in civil engineering, I do not tutor dynamics, materials, or other upper level civil engineering specific courses.
