Teaching is a calling to connect with another person and help them solve their problems, whether it be in a school setting or business and sales setting.

I have been both a public and private school teacher for K-college, and a marketing director for a large medical practice. As a marketing director, I developed patient interest articles for magazines and websites.

I will stay on task with a student and cover the material required for testing and course assignments. Sometimes what brings success to a student is having an encouraging tutor to sit right there and establish guidelines for reviewing the assignment.

We can set up goals and objectives for you on our first visit. Some of my recent tutoring has involved helping the student to write well-formatted sentences, paragraphs and reports. Other students have seen improvement in their enunciation as we practice where to place proper stress on a word.

I am certified as an English and grammar teacher, and writing is one of my specialties. I have helped students format their reports and essays, and taken a critical look at their sentence structure and grammatical correctness.

My degree is in Education and my major subject field is English. I am already working with four foreign students with their written and spoken English skills.

I have a degree in English from the University of Houston and experience writing web-based and magazine content for a large medical practice in Houston. Also I proof-read our web pages, brochure and magazine submissions written by others.

SAT Writing

As an English major, I love to write and can help the SAT student to organize and proofread his/her essay paper. I am certified by WyzAnt to tutor SAT essay writing. Also, I have written several articles for local magazines and I have a good feel for what engages the reader.

Elementary (K-6th)

I received a BS in Education from the University of Houston in 1965. My major is in English. I have taught preschool, 5th grade and adults.

As a former 5th grade teacher, I know that good study/observation habits are the basis of success in everything we do. "Paying attention" is most of the battle in acquiring knowledge. The secret to paying attention is being interested in what the teacher or book is saying. How do we do that?

I am an ordained minister of the Christian faith and my husband and I teach Bible studies for Prison Fellowship Ministry at Ramsey and Carol Young Prisons in the Houston area.
