I have taught ESL at the Houston Community College, and while there, I also tutored students in the Language Lab. I can offer you coaching in the following: Conversation; Intermediate to Advanced Grammar; and Writing. You may contact me if you need instruction or help with revisions or, if you just want me to proofread your written material, I can do that too. I also associate-teach part-time for H.I.S.D where I have gained considerable experience coaching children in ESL and the Language Arts.

I'm a devoted and committed tutor who takes on only a few short and long-term students at a time so I can fully take care of their specific academic needs. In my free time, I read and write poetry - you can tell I love words, take long walks, or play tennis.

My method is thorough and medium-paced. My reasonable fee is non-negotiable. I can meet you at your place, at a coffee shop near you, or at one near me. I tutor from 6-10 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on weekends.

I check my email twice a day. When you call my land line and there is no connection, it means I'm on another line, or online. Shoot me an email or call another time. I disclose my cell number to committed students only.

I have studied Spanish grammar and speak the language somewhat; this, I'm sure, will be of some help to students whose native language is Spanish. I must also add that I have traveled to many places on the globe and have gained an international perspective on many things that I delight in bringing to the table.

Grammar

I have tutored native and international students at the Houston Community College, helping them with persistent problems in grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.

Writing

I have taught Composition at the Houston Community College to students of ESL. I have also tutored (in the same college) both native and international students at the Language Lab, helping them with papers on pretty much any subject matter, be it in the expository, analytical, or creative style of writing.

English

I taught ESL at the Houston Community College, where I also tutored students at the Language Lab. I can help you brainstorm ideas for a thesis, clear doubts about grammar and the writing process, and proofread your work for errors.

Literature

I can help you comprehend and analyze literary material, and also check your analytical papers for clarity, elucidation, cohesiveness, and structure. I can also help with creative work, like the short story and poetry (adults and children).

ESL/ESOL

I taught at the Houston Community College as an adjunct instructor of ESL for a period of three years. I also tutored there, at their lab, where I saw students who had persistent problems in comprehending difficult grammatical points. I also went over papers for correct sentence structure, helped revise and rewrite paragraphs, and finally, proofread the papers for mechanical errors.
