I'm an experienced tutor and teacher, and have worked with kids of all ages. The bulk of my experience is with high school and ACT/SAT math. Though I currently study and research art and the humanities, I have a strong academic background in math and the sciences, with two and a half years of coursework in Bio-medical Engineering at Virginia Tech. So really, I love the opportunity to keep up my math through tutoring. I began tutoring math in high school, free-lance, and continued to do so through college. After college, I began tutoring professionally in other subjects, such as reading, writing, history, and French.
In graduate school, I studied Art History, literature, new media, the digital humanities, and, of course, did a lot of research and writing. I am extremely comfortable working with students on long term research and am familiar with honor code policies so that I may maintain the proper boundaries of engagement.
I also love working with younger children, and was in high demand as a reading tutor for ages 5 - 10 when I was working as a professional tutor in Virginia.
In addition to tutoring, I currently also teach Community college in Chicago.
