I was born in France and am consequently a French native speaker.
I studied American and English literatures and civilisations in Great Britain from 1982 to 1988, completed my Master in 1985 and started a doctorate which I interrupted when I married in 1988. I then lived in Germany with my husband and our two children until 2006 when my husband s career took us to Shanghai in China where we spent four years until we moved to Houston in 2010.
I am well-traveled , very open-minded, have extremely good communication skills and almost 30 years of teaching experience with all kinds of students, of all ages, nationalities and levels.
I worked as a French assistant for several secondary schools in Ireland (1983/1984) and Scotland (1985/1986) and at Newcastle Polytechnic in England (1987/1988). Between each assessment I worked on several short-term contracts as an English teacher in different schools and companies in France.
In Germany I worked for various language institutes and companies as a freelance language trainer (French and English) and translator.
At the same time I also worked as a commercial agent for language schools in France and England.
In Shanghai, I first worked as a French tutor for the "Deutsche Schule Shanghai" then as a self-employed language trainer (English and French) for adults and school children.
I also continued translating for German customers.
I have now resumed my activity as a language trainer for teenagers and adults in Houston.
French is my maternal language. My English and German are fluent.
I also speak Spanish and Mandarin Chinese on a basic level and understand Italian and Danish.
My main interests are communication in general (languages, art and music), cookery and wine, history and sports.
