I am a retired attorney, having practiced law in Louisiana for 24 years. I had experience teaching English at the high school level. My last teaching job was as an instructor in the Paralegal Program (which was recently phased out) at the Court Reporting Institute of Houston, where I taught every subject in the curriculum, including the two English Composition courses. I am also certified through Oxford Seminars as an ESL Instructor. I will publish a civil war novel entitled A DIFFERENCE OF PURPOSE in July, 2012. My passion is teaching and writing. Helping students to improve their skills in English grammar and writing and motivating and helping them to do their best gives me great satisfaction and I look forward to working with students and their parents. I try to instill confidence in students in the daunting task of committing their thoughts to paper. Even professional writers complain of writers block, largely because they are afraid of that first draft. Even Ernest Hemingway stated that the first draft of anything is not going to be of high quality. The real work is in revision, and my students will learn to revise, revise, and revise until they have written something they can be proud to call their own.
