C++

C++ is simply C with objects. It is one of the more popular languages taught at the university level and gives the student a good background to begin programming.

I minored in Computer Science as an undergrad and studied C++ as part of my curriculum. I received an A in my basic C++ course and I continue to expand my knowledge of C and object oriented programming through independent study.

Differential Equations

I studied differential equations for my undergraduate mathematics degree at the University of St. Thomas. I received a B+ in the course. I have also taken several more advanced courses which require a working knowledge of differential equations.

Linear Algebra

I studied Linear Algebra at the University of St. Thomas and received an A in the course.

Linear Algebra is the study of matrices and their properties. The applications for linear algebra are far reaching whether you want to continue studying advanced algebra or computer science.

Logic

I studied logic, as math major, both in the context of my courses requiring proofs, as well as a separate course (as 'Intro to Mathematics'). I am familiar with set theory, the language of logic, and how to structure and write proofs using logic notation.

I received an A in my logic course and I have since then applied what I learned in all of my proceeding math courses.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
