Hi everyone! I am an experienced SAT Tutor who has worked with two different tutoring organizations in and around Houston. I scored a 1450 on the SAT (on the 1600 scale) and a 32 Composite on the ACT. After gaining a Bachelor's Degree from Trinity University in History, I received a 165 on the LSAT and attended University of Houston's school of law where I received my JD in May of 2010. I received scholarships in both schools primarily based on my standardized test scores. I am unique among many tutors in that my math skills are nearly as strong as my reading and English skills. I believe the best way to tutor students is to tailor my teaching to their skills and learning styles rather than forcing my own methods on students. Building confidence and familiarity with the format of a standardized test is a major part of improving student's scores.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bar Exam

As a licensed attorney, I took the Bar Exam and went through a BarBri program. In addition to taking the standard course, I did significant self-study on the nature of the test, with a focus on the multi-state aspect, and passed the exam on my first attempt. After passing the test, I directed a self-study course for a fellow student who did not pass on their first attempt, helping them to pass on their second. Further, I have years of experience tutoring in similar standardized tests such as the LSAT and SAT.

Great Tutor — Christopher, Thanks for your patience and great tutoring skills in Calculus! I specifically needed help with optimization problems, finding the area between curved functions and how to find the tangent to a curve at a given point, which were all explained in a manner that was easily understood. In addition, he was punctual, polite and responded to all my emails in a very timely manner. I would ...
